Have You Ever Watched A Shark Eat A Research Drone? Now You Can!
This video is as awesome as is is scary.
1. WHOI engineers Amy Kukulya and Roger Stokey work for a place called "Oceanographic Systems Lab". They used REMUS torpedo-shaped semi-autonomous underwater drones to study the predatory behaviors of Great White Sharks around Guadalupe Island.
2. Their goal was to film and track great white sharks using special acoustic tags.
3. The hunter soon became the hunted.
4. The result was an incredible video that showcased the feeding techniques of the great whites. You can see the full video on Vimeo here: https://vimeo.com/101165012
